Choose one of the characters provided — or create one of your own — and write a five-paragraph letter using the language of the Underground Railroad from your character’s perspective.
Feel free to incorporate any of the videos we’ve watched, songs of the era, or local sites that were crucial to the Underground Railroad. You are also encouraged do additional research to help develop your letter.
This is an optional assignment worth 40 points. Your score cannot lower your grade. If your score is lower than your present average, it will not count against your grade.
